Working with two local churches, Dennis Township Student Government advisors Amanda Unkle and Marni McCann organized a food drive to assemble Thanksgiving baskets for families in the community. The baskets include all the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner, including the frozen turkey! Student Government members helped collect the food from homerooms on a daily basis and students and staff from both schools brought in canned goods, butter, stuffing and more.
"I'm amazed and proud and touched that our students and school community were able to make this happen," stated McCann. "We have twenty-two baskets going out to families in our community, which is more than we've ever had in the past. It tells me that this is a community that can pull together to help out neighbors in need."
